Ecommerce Systems Analyst

GRAYBOX is looking for multiple Ecommerce Systems Analysts to join our team for January 2023. This role is either fully remote or in our Portland, OR office. If you have solid experience working with large, enterprise ecommerce teams and are looking to grow your knowledge while solving interesting problems with a collaborative, goal-oriented team — we’d love to chat with you.

As an Analyst on our team, you’ll be working with ecommerce client-partners and our in-house team to evaluate client-partner business and systems processes, issues, and problems and provide ongoing recommendations and guidance to help solve them. You will do research, interview stakeholders, untangle complex knots, write documentation and project plans, collaborate during design & production, and help test the work produced. You will work with a team of experts from our strategy, creative, and development teams to realize our client’s vision.

You will work Full-time on a dedicated team for a large, globally leading client. This is a great opportunity to build up your resume and work collaboratively with GRAYBOX peers and with a Fortune 100 company.

We are currently looking for two people as we have multiple slots to fill for 2023.

Role Responsibilities

  • Gathering and thoroughly documenting business or system requirements including field mapping, website process and system processes.

  • Excellent communicator that can easily transition from business facing stakeholders to technical developers to creative designers.

  • Understands and can investigate issues with interfaces, store functionality and data integrations.

  • Works closely with the team to identify and document the root cause on issues, perform testing when needed and ensure proper resolution.

About You

  • You grew from either a project management or engineering background to become a product or team leader.

  • Knowing when and how to inform, educate, and corral our client-partners’ expectations. An expert at distilling and harnessing a client-partners’ vision.

  • Comfort within a primarily agile environment, diving into creative reviews, gathering requirements, supporting backlog grooming, rolling epics and issues into business goals and providing decisive on-the-fly leadership to our client-partner and internal teams.

  • “I can’t” and “I don’t know” aren’t in your lexicon. You have been the catch-all expected to “find out”, and be the hub for all knowledge for our client-partners’ and their engagements.

  • Detailed oriented and self-motivated.

  • Capable presenter of the teams’ good ideas to Sr. Leadership.

  • You care about process, believe good documentation is critical, and enjoy working with others to create solutions.

  • You're accountable and find yourself in the constant pursuit of bettering your skills and those of your team around you.

  • You solve problems and find opportunities to make improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience with ecommerce systems; senior-level preferred

  • Excellent track record of communication, dependability and independence

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and capable of self-managing and multi-tasking in a fast-paced and growing environment

  • Deep knowledge of payments, fulfillments, shipping, inventory management and customer support

  • Skilled at translating business needs and/or user experience information into actionable development tickets

  • Experience developing long-term strategies to improve a variety of key metrics (conversion rate, AOV, etc.)

  • Experience working with a cross-functional team, including product, marketing, development, and QA/QC

  • Experience working in an agile team environment

  • Strong interpersonal and written skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively

  • Always learning and building your skillset, as things change fast

  • Working knowledge of back-office, ERP systems such as NetSuite and SAP

Location & Remote Work

  • Position can be remote anywhere in the USA

  • Must generally work & be available on Central Standard Time

  • Working while traveling is okay up to 4 weeks a year

  • This is a full-time, permanent position that we’ll aim to start you in December 2022 for start in January 2023.

Hiring Process

Our process generally involves 4 rounds of interviews; a phone screening, video calls with hiring manager, team members or specialists and CEO. Some of our applicants with technical backgrounds may be asked to complete a skill-based assessment, and review your results with an Architect. If asked to complete an exercise, you will be compensated for your time.
