GRAYBOX is seeking a Wordpress Implementer to join our Marketing practice! This role is ideally Portland-based, but we’re open to options if you need some flexibility.
As a member of our marketing team, you’ll work collaboratively with designers and developers to build out and design a variety of websites in multiple CMS systems. Primary focus will be Wordpress, but with some opportunities for Drupal, Craft or Expression Engine as well. Working from designed core pages and design styles, you will interpret design for secondary pages and unit templates. You will implement theme sites mainly, though there may be some custom work, and you will be using configuration options and content production/entry to execute a design vision.
You will work on the marketing team to drive the designs and technical implementation of client websites and website-related projects.
You will work with various Wordpress page builder tools to create functional websites.
You will collaborate closely with the creative team to design UX & UI and deliver on the overall project vision.
You will work alongside a small team of developers to discuss solutions, make decisions, estimate/validate, and ensure the technical feasibility of planned feature development.
You will report progress on development at daily stand-ups and escalate issues or slippage in a timely fashion.
2+ years of experience in front-end development and web design.
You have a firm understanding of frontend development and implementing responsive design.
A well-developed interactive design aesthetic to steward cohesive digital designs for a variety of brands/industries.
Excellent understanding of visual design, interaction design, and user interface development.
Experience building and editing page templates within Wordpress, especially using page builder tools such as WP Bakery and Elementor.
Experience using caching and minification plugins to make sites that perform well.
Ability to convert wireframes and design mockups into pages and posts.
Ability to follow super detailed visual brand guidelines.
Ability to collaborate with designers on content production and do simple image edits on your own.
Knowledgeable in file output and optimization for creative assets including images and video for beautiful resolution with lightning-fast load speeds.
Good working knowledge of UI patterns and techniques to solve common UX problems.
A portfolio or examples of your design and development work to share.
You love collaborating in the design process and bringing a creative vision to life.
You’re great at working independently in a fast-paced environment alongside distributed teams.
You ask questions, let others know when you need help, and tell others what you need.
