Dan is Director of Operations at GRAYBOX where he is responsible for all Finance, Accounting, Human Resources and other administrative functions. Dan enjoys the breadth of strategic and practical problem solving necessary to be successful in these areas, and they indubitably fulfill his virtuoso tendencies.
Prior to GRAYBOX, Dan served as the Director of Finance for Oregon Food Bank, supporting the good work of the team’s efforts to eliminate hunger. Prior to OFB, Dan attended Portland State University where he earned his Masters Degree in Financial Analysis and from there, practiced as a CPA for six years at a local accounting firm, working with small and medium-size businesses with their tax and accounting issues.
On the home front, Dan is married to Rachel and has three sons, Wesley, Nolan and Emmett. Dan adores his family, treasuring the time he spends coaching baseball, zoo trips and teaching the boys and their neighborhood friends to catch a touchdown pass. Weekends are filled with family adventures, beach trips, hikes and fishing. Dan also leads the urban homestead, where he enjoys the daily task of herding his backyard chickens. When Dan isn’t busy with the family, he enjoys a round of golf, a ping-pong match, or performing a moving rendition of Rocket Man at the local karaoke hang.
If you could teleport, where would you go and why?
Twenty-five years into the future. I've always dreamed of seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'd also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five World Series.
