What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten? What did you think of it?

A longtime friend is an infamous fisherman of the Pacific intertidal zones. I was with him the day he caught the world record for the largest Monkeyfaced Eel. There’s a few reasons you probably haven’t heard of this fish. First, as the name would suggest it’s a famously ugly beast. More a sideshow specimen than leading character in Finding Nemo. After trying to cook up the slimy, rubbery, and gamey fillet, I can also confirm that its looks are its finest quality.
