Green Building Initiative
The Green Building Initiative, a Portland non-profit, came to GRAYBOX initially for help with a website redevelopment in 2014. They needed a website fostering their wide array of resources. GRAYBOX continues to work with GBI and is now developing a new project to establish integrations with a diverse set of endpoints, from modern APIs to simulated browser interactions.
The Green Building Initiative is a nonprofit organization based in Portland, OR that provides sustainability assessment and certification services for buildings in the United States. To support these services, GBI also offers personnel training and certification courses.
GBI enlisted the help of GRAYBOX to assist them in replacing their current project assessment application with a new and improved version. After understanding GBI's specific needs, the UI Designer created sitemaps and wireframes for the development team. The visual style guide was then created, along with the visual design mockups. Once that was completed, everything was developed on the front and backend utilizing a customized version of Expression Engine CMS.
GRAYBOX also implemented a custom OAuth server from scratch on a legacy platform. This synchronizes data across multiple APIs including 3 separate instances of a third-party application, and Salesforce.
GRAYBOX has been working with non-profits for years to help them build out their technology infrastructure. As a long term client, we were proud to help GBI become the first organization to assess federal government buildings for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reduction and Reporting.
