Whisky Friday‚ The Whisky Manhattan

​This is my go to drink when I want to feel fancy and dignified. The classic whisky manhattan. It’s strong, smooth and a downright velvety delight. It’s also super easy to make.

​This is my go to drink when I want to feel fancy and dignified. The classic whisky manhattan. It’s strong, smooth and a downright velvety delight. It’s also super easy to make.

You’ll need only a few ingredients:

  1. Whisky. I’ld rec­om­mend a Rye, but any sort of Bour­bon would also do. (Don’t get to fan­cy and waste a great whisky on a cocktail.)
  2. Sweet Ver­mouth
  3. Angos­tu­ra Bitters
  4. Ice
  5. Cock­tail Shaker

It’s real­ly easy to make, we’re going to mix every­thing up real cold in the cock­tail shaker.

  1. In a cock­tail shak­er, fill it with with ice.
  2. Pour 3 Oz of Whisky
  3. Pour ¬æ Oz of Sweet Vermouth
  4. 4 dash­es of Angos­tu­ra bitters.

Now for the moment of truth.

If you want to feel posh, stir it up for about 30 sec­onds. Oth­er­wise, shake it up. You want to see cold on the out­side of the shak­er and get about 40% of the ice to dilute. It should be a nice red­dish brown color.

Pour into a Mar­ti­ni glass and for an extra flour­ish add a maraschi­no cher­ry. Enjoy!
