Shannon is the Design Director at Graybox, leading product design and UX for companies navigating growth, scale, and systems evolution. With an MFA in printmaking and over two decades of design leadership, she brings art-school curiosity to every project—and a systems mindset to every solution.
Her career began in the wild west days of the web, translating analog storytelling into digital experiences. Since then, she's partnered with agencies, startups, and in-house teams to launch new products, shape platforms and build change rooted in solid foundations. Shannon helps cross-functional teams move faster and smarter—without losing sight of the big picture.
Outside of Graybox, she's led her own studio, advised founders through funding and acquisitions, and has grown brands and products from 0→1. In the other hours, she's usually chasing ships down the Columbia River (measuring speed in knots), studying beverage design in grocery aisles, or adding another Lego build to her growing collection.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
1. Spend a month aboard a container ship crossing the Pacific Ocean—documenting the journey through drawings, field notes, and visualizations.
2. Ride every train route across North America—turning the trip into a slow-travel experiment in observation and weird snack discoveries.
3. Open a very narrow store that functions like a seasonal catalog: part product line, part installation. Each edition would center around a single story—shaping not just what's for sale, but the entire physical experience.
