I was going to write a long article about new logo trends for 2010 compared to 2009, but as I was doing some research, these guys at LogoLounge did a better job then I could have.
One important thing to recognize is how much visual clutter/noise in included in these logos. Long gone are the simple logos we see everyday, McDonald's, FedEx, CitiBank, etc etc. These logos don't tell a story or sell the brand, they are decorations.
